Otto and his wife, Shelly, both grew up on the West coast – Shelly in Washington state and Otto in California. They both joined full time staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship after meeting and studying at the University of WA in Seattle. They worked with college students at Whitman College for 5 years and then transferred to Saint Louis to help with InterVarsity’s work at Washington University. They moved directly into the West End neighborhood, and Otto continued to work with InterVarsity until 2006. He has been the Director of Youth Ministry at New City Fellowship – U City since 2008. Shelly and Otto have 3 children – 2 sons, Bailey and Isaac, and a daughter, Olivia.
