You are warmly invited to the 8th annual Reconciliation & Justice Conference.
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” Mark 8:34
“But to you who are listening I say: ‘Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” Luke 6:27, 28
Our deepest desire is to encourage one another to enter into the ultimate purpose of the death and resurrection of Christ – “to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross” Colossians 1:20. That reconciliation comes to expression most profoundly in our reconciliation to God and to one another. And there is a specific way we are called as followers of Jesus Christ to participate in seeing that become a reality: we are called to take up our cross, like Jesus took up his. Ultimately, the cross was not given to Christ first by the hands of evil men working their unjust purposes, but first of all by the compassionate love of the Father for a lost world, calling his Son to endure the cross for the sake of our redemption and reconciliation. For us the cross is also not first of all the burden other men put on us; it is first of all the burden of love Jesus calls us to embrace as his disciples as the means of seeing his salvation purposes advance in this world.
Come join us as we humble our hearts together before God our Father and Jesus our Lord, and ask him to teach us through his Word and Spirit and his servants from many nations, how to more deeply enter into this kind of love, even for our enemies.
